Mueller & Associates performed concrete & masonry restoration of the east and north facades. MA tested windows to determine the different causes for the water infiltration and provided ownership with a frame modification to prevent expensive window system replacements.

Lake Point Tower

Roughly 138,000 square foot planter leak investigation

505 East Lake Shore Drive: 3rd floor plaza Chicago, Illinois

Mueller & Associates as the structural engineer investigated leaks of record associated to a 138,000-square-foot planter located at the 3rd-floor plaza deck. The giant green space exhibited large trees, planting expansion joints and a swimming pool. The giant planter box spans over commercial space and a parking garage. Leaks in numerous locations were investigated and repaired. Special knowledge was required of hot waterproofing systems in order to understand the proper repair methodology.

MA provided the following services:

Engineering evaluation of all leaks in waterproofing system
Leak investigation and repair design at each infiltration
