New 6-story Concrete Residential Building
1606 North California Avenue, Chicago, Illinois
Mueller & Associates, LLC (MA) in a joint effort with M3 Architectural in the design of this six-story mixed use concrete framed residential building in the City of Chicago. MA performed
the structural analysis and design of the concrete framed building. Due to lot size constraints MA designed special concrete strap foundations to fit the large building to the lot.

Building Addition-Modification
7500 Willow Springs Road, LaGrange Illinois
Mueller & Associates, LLC (MA) in a joint effort with Randy B. Pruyn NCARB AIA teamed up to design an addition to an existing 100-year-old masonry structure. Special foundation underpinning conditions proved to be a challenge, as the existing building foundations were comprised of large stone rubble. Other building modifications included the addition of an elevator, second level pool, sun deck, and structural modifications to the existing chimney.

Mueller & Associates completed the structural engineering design and analysis of the laminated/tempered glass and structural steel support framing for the 2nd-floor infill of the condominium unit. Special consideration was given to the load transfer of forces into the existing building columns and not into the post-tensioned concrete deck.
